What an awesome mushroom serpent dragon dude! :D I wish I could sport a mustache like that lol!
I like the style you put into this: using a cooled color palette with a rather sparkly dithering technique makes this feel very magical and mysterious. :)

Have a very happy Pixel Day!

Silberregen responds:

oh thank you very much <3

Nicely done! The composition is really cool; you have two good focal points, and it creates like a hierarchy of power or something. The animation is a great touch as well ^^

I really like how you used the colors! I think it's totally fine being more than 16 colors. I was going to recommend more anti-aliasing but I think that's just a style choice (and maybe to save time since this was indeed a big piece with a lot of texture haha). Maybe dithering the clouds to make them smoother would help? idk :)

Anyway, this is really great art! Happy Pixel Day!!

codrea responds:

thanks for the feedback. honestly i got lazy to do a lot of dithering but don't tell this to anybody. 🙊

This is beautifully done! Great technique with the curves (I even see AA!), and awesome job making the colors really count with the depth. Great use of dithering as well.

Happy Pixel Day!

TurkeyOnAStick responds:

.... oh AA = antialiasing! Righto

This review struck a chord with me the other day, as you picked up on a lot of tiny technical features. It does give me a buzz that somebody out there is aware and looking out for the tiny things.

Glad a fellow pixel artist gave me a good review, thank you. Happy pixel day!

Hey nice work man! Excellent use of animation techniques.
Looking forward to seeing it in-game! :)

Luis responds:

wow who are you!

Hey! Solid piece of art dude!! Is there a story behind this that I missed?

TheEvaluh responds:

Nah, this is all there is. Thanks man

Wow, I just zoomed in! That's some awesome detail on the eel.
Nice job improving your technique so much since 2 years ago! It feels much more powerful and intentional :)

Skaalk responds:

Yes, yes... The eel required more power, and it will more, or something. Thank you!

I think it's clever and well executed! It's one of those pieces of art that invites a second glance and a moment of thought, which totally makes it easier to truly appreciate.

Maybe the stroke sketchiness is a bit inconsistent, with the shards for example? But the color, contrast, and overall composition came out to be super powerful. Awesome work as always :D

themefinland responds:

Thanks dude! I appreciate the feedback!

I love it! The expression you created is really cool, with those crazy eyes and jagged horns. Good job :)

AshleyAlyse responds:

Thank you!! :3

Wow, that's still quite impressive! You're very creative, sir. I especially like what you did with the eyes!
I can kinda imagine it giving the hero a quest hahaha

TheEvaluh responds:

Thanks man! The eyes are actually creature taxidermy eyes you can easily get online. I love using them on stuff.

Mannn those are tight details. I love it!
The guy on the right looks very Pixar-esque somehow, and the guy on the left is really well balanced.

Hey I'd give you an A+. Hope your teacher loves it!

TheEvaluh responds:

Thanks dude! She did like it
